So my parents and brother just got home and we were all talking. My brother wanted my mom to tell us some story, so she started talking, but interrupted herself to ask why it smells like we've been baking. I explained that I had made cookies and that there was leftover cookie dough in the fridge if they wanted some. All of a sudden my dad said quietly to my mom, "don't let her hijack your conversation."
This is a big issue because a few months ago, my dad accused my mom and I of hijacking his conversation one night, and apparently I did again the next morning. I understood that I had unintentionally redirected conversation, and apologized. But now he assumes I am going to hijack every conversation, always.
However, especially with this instance, I was ASKED to talk about something. I am upset because my dad likes to make assumptions about what I say and do. He comes in in the middle, gets upset with me, and when we explain the whole story he says, "oh. okay. Never mind, then."
I really dislike that he said that to my mom. It was completely unprecedented, and there is no way for me address it right now. Also my dad does things like this all too often. Thus, my frustration.
I should blog on some sort of schedule, but I dislike putting myself on a schedule for writing. Currently it is more of a hindrance than a help. Plus, I am pretty sure no one reads my blog anyway.
